Frequently Asked Questions

GENERAL INQUIRIES

What are your hours of operation?
We work on appointment schedule only. Please no drop ins.

Do you operate year round?
We operate outdoor experiences and demonstrations from March until October. The species of bird we do our demonstrations with are desert dwelling birds and do not handle the Canadian cold winters well, so this is for their safety and comfort.

Are children allowed to participate?
There is no age limit for children in attendance, however the recommended age is for children to handle the bird of prey is 10 and older. Children are asked to be respectful of the birds of prey and to listen to instruction of the falconer at all times. It is at the discretion of the falconer whether the child may handle the bird of prey. We set these restrictions for the safety of our birds as well as for the safety of your child. Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

FALCONRY EXPERIENCES

Are spectators or chaperones allowed to come along for my falconry experience?
Although we do encourage you to invite your friends, we do not allow spectators.

Can I take photos?
Photos are encouraged however we ask that you please refrain from using a flash as it can irritate the birds' eyes. Please note that the falconer will be busy handling the bird of prey and may not be able to take photos for you during your experience. However, we are happy to take photos for you holding the bird after your experience!

Is there anything I should bring?
Please dress for the weather! Wear comfortable walking or hiking shoes as your experience will take place outdoors, at a barn. Bring your camera! And don't forget to bring any certificates, voucher codes, or gift cards you may have to redeem your experience.

What if the weather is bad?
Since our experiences take place outdoors, we are at the mercy of mother nature. Please note that extreme weather conditions will mean we will need to reschedule for another day. This is not only for your comfort but for the safety and health of our birds of prey. We honour any rescheduled experiences 100%.
