Frequently Asked Questions

General Inquiries

We operate on appointment schedule only. Please no drop ins. We operate outdoor experiences and demonstrations from April until December.

There is no age limit for children in attendance for displays, demonstrations and experiences. However, the recommended age is for children to handle the bird of prey is 10 and older. Children are asked to be respectful of the birds and to listen to instruction of the falconer at all times. It is at the discretion of the falconer whether the child may handle the bird of prey. We set these restrictions for the safety of our birds as well as for the safety of your child. Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult for demonstrations and experiences.

Falconry Experiences

Although we do encourage you to invite your friends, we do not allow spectators.

Photos are encouraged however we ask that you please refrain from using a flash as it can irritate the birds' eyes. Please note that the falconer will be busy handling the bird of prey and may not be able to take photos for you during your experience. However, we are happy to take photos for you holding the bird after your experience.

Please dress for the weather! Wear comfortable walking or hiking shoes as your experience will take place outdoors, at a barn. If it is spring and it has been a rainy week, consider wearing rubber boots or waterproof footwear. Bring your camera! And don't forget to bring any certificates, voucher codes, or gift cards you may have to redeem your experience.

Please do NOT wear fur (hats, gloves, or fur trim on your jacket) as birds of prey are natural predators and may be inclined to 'hunt' your clothing. No dogs as we already have several on the property and our birds are fearful of unfamiliar dogs.

Since our experiences take place outdoors, we are at the mercy of mother nature. Please note that extreme weather conditions will mean we will need to reschedule for another day. This is not only for your comfort but for the safety and health of our birds of prey. We honour any rescheduled experiences 100%.

Gift Cards

Your gift card or certificate will have a redemption code written on it which can be applied when scheduling your workshop or experience. If your gift card or certificate does not have a code, please email contact@royalcanadianfalconry.com or fill out our contact form and someone will get back to you ASAP!

Your gift card expires 1 year from purchase. If extenuating circumstances will not allow you to redeem your gift card within that time frame, contact us before the date of expiry and we will honour it.
